Few dental practitioners complete a useful financial plan. Many dentists assume they have a financial plan when they contribute to a 401(k), obtain some investment advice, or purchase other investment products. But none of these fully address clear financial planning.

As dentists make more deliberate financial choices, they will achieve meaningful results and stand out among their peers. When constructing your financial plan it’s important to make conscious choices about personal finance and not let someone else make those choices for you. Plan first—then implement.
